MOU with The University of Jaffna to Foster Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Gate Institute, Sri Lanka, is pleased to announce that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (“MOU”) with The University Business Linkage (UBL) Cell, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, to foster entrepreneurial research, knowledge, capacities, and skills and enhance innovation efforts.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on 2 December 2024 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office of the University of Jaffna. Professor S. Srisatkunarajah, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, and Ms. Mathangie Selvarajah, Director of The Gate Institute, Sri Lanka, signed the MoU.
This partnership marks a significant step in fostering business and entrepreneurial support programs. Through this collaboration, the MoU aims to:
✅ Establish a virtual networking platform (Researchpreneur) for entrepreneurial researchers and startups.
✅ Drive socio-economic empowerment through innovation, research, and capacity-building programs.
✅ Facilitate startup competitions, pitching events, and mentoring opportunities.
✅ Build a vibrant ecosystem that empowers startups and SMEs for local and global competitiveness.
The MoU brings together UOJ’s academic excellence and TGI’s innovative GIVE platform, uniting researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors to make impactful strides in socio-economic development.
