About us
Our Brief History:
Since 2015, The Gate Institute has functioned as a research group based in the UK and Sri Lanka, comprised of a network of researchers, professionals, and practitioners from various disciplines and countries. In collaboration with think tanks, NGOs, charities, and universities, we have organised several conferences, seminars, research projects, capacity building programmes and workshops to advance the social and economic development of war-affected and underserved communities, primarily in Sri Lanka. Realising the need to scale up, formalise and institutionalise our activities, The Gate Institute was registered as a non-profit organisation (Limited by Guarantee) in 2022 in the UK. Since then, in collaboration with local partners, we have made significant progress in developing new pathways and delivering. The Gate Institute was also registered separately in Sri Lanka as a non-profit organisation (Limited by Guarantee) in 2024.
