Pre-launch of Gate for Innovation Venture and Entrepreneurship(GIVE)

A pre-launch virtual event for the Gate for Innovation Venture and Entrepreneurship (GIVE) Digital Hub, developed by The Gate Institute, UK, to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among Sri Lanka’s underserved communities, was held on June 30, 2024, from 12.00 to 1.45 pm BST (4.30 pm to 5.40 pm Sri Lanka Time).

Atputharajah, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Dr M. Arumugam, Chairman of the Startup Committee at Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation, India, Prof. R. Surenthirakumaran, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Dr. M. Koneswaran, Director, University Business Linkages (UBL), Eastern University of Sri Lanka, Prof Kandiah Pakeerathan, Director, University Business Linkages (UBL), University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Mr. Freedanz Ferdinandz, Co-founder of comdu.it, Germany and innovation and entrepreneurship expert, Mr. Nithushan Uthayakumar, Secretary, British Tamil Chamber of Commerce, UK, Mr Suresh Sivagnanam, an Entrepreneur, Investor, and Advisor in Healthcare and higher education in the UK and Austria and Dr. Y. Nanthagopan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, among others attended the event.

The officials who participated in the event expressed their views that GIVE.community has the potential to make a huge contribution to promoting and developing entrepreneurship among disadvantaged communities in Sri Lanka and promised full cooperation for the implementation of GIVE.

Currently, testing activities are being carried out to examine whether the functions of the https://www.give.community/  are performing as expected. To this end, a limited number of people are being added as members in all four forums of the GIVE platform, such as the knowledge exchange forum, ideapreneur forum, supervisor forum and investor forum.
